Diary of an estate agent mummy week 3

WOW, time flies when your having………….. so you were expecting fun, sorry to disappoint but fun is a word I would use to describe a night out with friends, shopping, a nice lunch, even karaoke, but not this current lockdown life!!!

Last week I found myself looking forward to the weekly shop, an hour at least of being out of the house with no kids, I even found myself sitting in the McDonalds queue with music blaring, it was dark and there was lights, I sang, I bum shuffled in fact it was the closest to a night out I’ve had in months, almost a year!!! You know life is not normal when you are looking forward to the weekly shop and a McDonalds’ queue.

Workwise, things have been good, I need to appreciate the conversations I am having and the valuations coming my way. 3 booked in now for next week via my website and all recommendations, can’t say better than that. On repeat I am telling myself, I am a new business, I am a new business, I am a new business, but when you are a busy person and always looking for something to do, this can be hard but I do know this journey I am on is for the long term.

New creative ideas for property marketing are continuously going through my mind, I really want to do something different and create something fresh for the market, not the same old estate agency we have been seeing for years, BORING!!! I want people to be excited about seeing a property, have some fun, this is an exciting thing, buyers are finding their dream home/ideal property, sellers getting the most out of their biggest asset and the agent being at the heart of that, helping the whole process along.

That aside I have been at the heart of my own home, which currently looks like a Hurricane has ripped through it, even though I tidy continuously, when you have a mini Tsunami constantly behind you it’s a never ending project, at least when they are at school the house stays tidy for at least 3 to 4 hours.

Seesaw, after my loving affection towards it last week, this week with continuous tasks being added and 6yr old some days point blank refusing to do anything, the whole thing has become overwhelming, in fact to the point where on Thursday I had a low day, a very low day!! I am an organised person and my mind does not cope well with tasks stacked up. I even messaged the teacher to say I was deleting tasks as I needed to get some clear head space and Seesaw was messing with it. After opening up on the P2 Whats App parent’s group, I quickly found out that most of us are feeling the same way and as much as I don’t wish anyone feeling this way, it’s good to know you are not the only one.

So, what else has happened this week, more Star Wars Battlefront, really need to stop playing it on my own though. 6yr old came into my room today and told me, ‘I am going to beat the Master and get the star today’ and I said good, ‘if you believe you can do it, you will and he said ‘ I believe in myself mummy’. Glad to know he has been watching me in the mirror in the morning ;-)

And to end off this blog today…. My embarrassment in Sainsbury’s car park courtesy of 6yr old. Our car has a whoopee cushion sound effect that can be used to make out that someone in the car is ‘farting’ yes completely childish but he is 6. However what I didn’t expect was for him to use said sound effect whilst the car doors where open and I was loading the shopping into car and of course, just as an older gentleman walked past he let one rip or he made out that I had, and yes the older gentleman did turn round and shot me a look, my face was so hot you could have fried eggs on it!!!
Here’s to another week, we have survived, just. Roll on next week but really starting to second guess this whole no drinking challenge I have forced upon myself, 5 days in it seems like a month. Need to get this marathon finished quick.

Stay Positive, Be Kind and remember we are all in this together x
